Student Leadership Development Camp 2008

Dusun Eco Resort is a training and recreational village that located in the district of Bentong , Pahang (56.8km Lebuhraya KL-Karak)..The camp was held on 14-16th March 2008...As a vice-president of the Economics Society , i represented Pre-U school to participate in this camp...

We reached the destination precisely 3 pm ...As the resort located on the hill , so we travelled the trucks to go up...Welcome to Dusun Eco Resort...

This is a view being captured while truck-travelling...We screamed loudly when the truck started to move up to the scary slope...

Eventually , we reached the chalets...After we settled down , we went to the canteen to have our lunch before the first activity began...

After the meal , we have to clean the tables and washed the plates , foxs and spoons by ourselves...

Patin hall is a place to conduct seminars during the camp :

1 . Behavioural and Leadership Styles ( 4 types ) and it have its own specific characteristics...

  • Popular Peacock
  • Peaceful Dove
  • Perfect Owl
  • Powerful Eagle

2 . Speaking Without Fear

3 .Developing Positive Attitudes and Managing Time Effectively

4 . Effective meeting and Minutes Writing

5 . Turbo-Charged Team Building (indoor activities)

This is the swimming pool that filled with natural water from the mountain stream...

The canteen is located just infront of the pool ....

Bamboo rafting

The first water activity began...All the participants divided to 4 groups in this particular competition...We have to build our raft by using the bamboos that being provided...We have to paddle the raft to the end of the lake and the fastest team will be the winner...
  • make sure it is able to float
  • do not sink when 8-10 participants sit on the raft to paddle
  • make sure the raft is balanced on the both sides

Eventually , our group became the winner and bad luck occured to opponent team...their raft was sank when it reached the middle of the lake...haha~~!! All of them was fallen into the water ....We laughed at them loudly and eventually they swam to our raft and a "raft-sinking" show began~~!! so funny and we did enjoy it...

Abseiling / Repelling

Rock climbing

It is an activity that full of excitement...Unfortunately , it's not high enough for me~~!!

The facilitators demostrated the techniques before we started to climb...For the rock climbing , the facilitators only used precisely 7 seconds to reach the top part...I was failed to complete the mission and just able to reach 3 quarters of it~~!!

Flying fox (the facilitators)
This is an activity that enables you to emulate the feeling of flying through the air with the cool wind on your face...Exciting~~!!

Vietnam bridge
We have to balance our bodies all the way to across the bridge...the height of the bridge is approximately 70 metres...

Obstacle courses

Above is a picture of SPARTAN group before the obstacle courses started...the first obstacle course is the wall that is located at the left hand side of this picture...

There are 12 challenging obstacle courses that included

Jungle Trekking

A difficult mission for all the participants :
  • 3 eggs and a plastic bag are given to each group and put the eggs into the plastic bag after it filled with water...
  • eggs are not allowed to be broken after the jungle trekking finished , one egg broken considered mission failed
  • A roll of toilet paper is given by the facilitators at the check-point and each group must select a member to immitate a injury victim , team members have to co-operate with each others to carry the victim until the jungle trekking activity over...
  • the groups that completed this 2 missions are the winner~~!!

Teamwork and co-operation are very crucial in a team...

We acted like crazy monkeys in the truck when it was moving down to the scary slope...
